-Physics Department

-Physics: BA, BS

-Physical Science: BS

The Physics Department provides an ideal learning environment for its students -- a small number of majors, a large faculty, an active chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS), and ample opportunity to work closely with a faculty member on an undergraduate research project. We offer degrees in Physics (both a BA and a BS) and in Physical Science.

Our Physics curriculum can prepare you for graduate study in physics or related fields, a teaching credential program, or for work in industry. With the flexibility of our new BA program, you can even consider a physics major before applying to medical school, law school or business school. Our concentrations in Electro-optics or in Electronics provide a program of advanced courses in these fields, and are great training for industry or graduate school.

In addition, members of the faculty have expertise in astrophysics, biophysics, geophysics, nonlinear dynamics, and public policy issues.

Future high school teachers can get the background they need with any of our degree programs. And the Physical Science programs will give a broad background in all of the physical sciences at Poly (physics, chemistry, geology, astronomy).

Biological Sciences: BS, MS

Chemistry and Biochemistry: BS, MS

Kinesiology: BS, MS

Mathematics: BS, MS

Statistics: BS
